There’s something sort of beautiful that happens in the brain when you do something repetitive with your hands, especially in times of trauma and grief.

Things like tapping, knitting, drawing; these things can help regulate your nervous system. Even playing tetris can help calm the traumatized mind.

These birds flew from my fingertips when everything else hurt and over time they have completely changed the way I process things.

This may be for you if:

  • you feel a little lost in your mind or feelings

  • are an artist or maker or just enjoy creating or did enjoy it at one point

  • maybe haven’t been creating much lately for a myriad of reasons

  • know you need or want to “do something” but have no idea what that looks like or means

  • have feelings or thoughts that aren’t tangible with words but are meaty nonetheless
